Description

Sherardised ring shank nails grip harder than any plain nail. The annular rings around the shank bite into the timber and lock, giving much higher pull-out resistance, so decking, flooring and sheathing stay tight. The sherardised coating (corrosion rating 2) suits sheltered exterior work. Carbon steel, 40mm to 100mm, sold loose by weight, conforming to Eurocode 5 service class 2.

FAQs

What are ring shank nails?

Nails with a series of rings, or annular grooves, around the shank. The rings bite into the timber fibres and lock, giving far higher pull-out resistance than a plain nail, so fixings stay put.

Why do ring shank nails hold better?

The rings act like a row of tiny barbs. Once driven, the timber fibres close over each ring, so the nail resists being pulled or worked out under load and movement.

Where should I use ring shank nails?

Decking, flooring, sheathing and fencing, and anywhere vibration or timber movement would loosen a plain nail. This sherardised version is made for sheltered exterior work.
