First, make sure the gap is clean and free from loose material. Lightly dampening the surfaces helps a moisture-curing foam cure evenly.

Next, shake the can well, then fit the straw or load it into a foam gun such as our AG1 or Premier gun.

Then apply, filling gaps around a third to half full, because the foam expands as it cures.

Finally, let it cure, then trim off any excess. For a certified fire-rated backfill around compartment joints, use our B1 Fire Resistant foam instead; for a gun-and-aerosol all-rounder see Mega Foam.

What does the B2 rating mean?

B2 is a reaction-to-fire classification. B2 foam performs well for general building use, but it is not a certified fire-stopping foam. Where a tested fire rating is specified, use our B1 Fire Resistant foam.

What is it best for?

Installing doors and windows and general gap filling, where its expansion seals the frame and adds temperature and sound insulation.

Gun grade or own nozzle?

Own-nozzle (straw) cans suit occasional use. Gun grade gives finer control and less waste on bigger jobs, used with a foam gun such as our AG1 or Premier gun.

How much should I apply?

Fill gaps around a third to half, because the foam expands considerably as it cures, then trim off any excess once set.

Does it insulate?

Yes, the cured foam offers good temperature and sound insulation, which is why it suits window and door perimeters.

How is it different from Mega Foam?

B2 is a dedicated door and window foam. Mega Foam is a high-yield gun-and-aerosol all-rounder. For a certified fire rating, step up to B1.
