First, make sure the surface is completely dry and free from loose or flaking material. Prime any corroded metal areas before coating.

Next, stir well and apply by brush or atomised spray in even coats.

Then allow each coat to dry before recoating where a second coat is needed for full protection.

Finally, see the technical data sheet for coverage and recoat times. For a reflective finish over a bitumen roof, overcoat with our Aluminium Solar Reflective Paint once cured.

What surfaces can I use it on?

Steelwork, concrete, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, concrete roofing, felt, fibre cement, corrugated iron, asphalt and wood, to protect them against water.

Does the surface need priming?

Prime any corroded metal areas first, and make sure the whole surface is completely dry and free from loose material before coating.

Can I spray it?

Yes, it can be applied by brush or atomised spray. See the data sheet for thinning and equipment guidance.

Can I put a reflective coat over it?

Yes. On a bitumen-coated roof, our Aluminium Solar Reflective Paint reflects heat and light over the top and reduces heat build-up.

Is it suitable below ground, like on foundations?

It is a general bituminous protective paint for weatherproofing. For tanking and below-ground damp, use a dedicated system such as our Rubber Bitumen Emulsion or Tanking Slurry.
