First, make sure both surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, grease and oil.

Next, apply a thin film to one surface only and bring the parts together immediately. You have a 2 to 3 second adjustment window before curing begins, so align first.

Then hold light, steady pressure without movement for at least 10 seconds, and a brief clamp helps reach full strength. Avoid handling until the bond time has passed.

Finally, work in good ventilation. Cyanoacrylates cure on atmospheric moisture, so they set best when humidity is above 50%. To speed up curing or bond a difficult surface, use our Superglue Activator.

What is the difference between HVC16 and RGC superglue?

HVC16 is high viscosity, so it stays put, fills small gaps and suits porous materials and mitre joints. RGC is medium viscosity and formulated for rubbers and plastics, including EPDM and SBR. Choose HVC16 for gap-filling and PVCu trims, RGC for flexible rubber and plastic parts.

Can it fill a gap in a mitre joint?

Yes, up to about 0.2 mm. The high viscosity formula is designed for mitres, trims and slightly imperfect joints where a thin superglue would run out.

How can I make it cure faster?

Use our Superglue Activator. It speeds the cure on difficult or slightly acidic surfaces and lets you handle the part almost immediately.

Is it the refill for the Mitre Kit?

Yes, the single bottle is supplied as a refill for Mitre Kits, as well as being a general-purpose superglue.

Why does it bond better in humid conditions?

Cyanoacrylate glues cure using moisture in the air, so above about 50% humidity they set reliably and give off fewer fumes. Always keep the area ventilated.

Does it work on porcelain and ceramics?

Yes, it bonds ceramics and porcelain, along with PVCu, rubber, timber, metal, MDF, leather and card.
