Description

The TIMCO C2 Deck-Fix is a premium decking screw for tradespeople who want a fixing that behaves. It runs on the patented C2 twin-cut point. That means the screw picks up fast, cuts its own path and pulls the board down tight without a fight. The hardened steel core takes the drive. The exterior green organic finish shrugs off the weather, tested to 1,000 hours of salt spray. If you fit decks, pergolas or fences for a living, this is the screw that keeps the job moving.

The head is where the clever bits sit. Ribs under the countersunk head clear a clean recess in the timber, so the screw sits flush every time. The head is also strengthened to resist shearing when you drive it with an impact driver. Add the helix shank that clears debris as it goes, and you get less splitting and a firmer clamp between board and joist.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Patented C2 twin-cut point. Rapid pick-up, cuts cleanly and reduces splitting near board ends.
  • Hardened steel core. Takes the torque from an impact driver without snapping.
  • Impact-rated countersunk head. Strengthened to resist shearing, with ribs under the head for a clean, flush countersink.
  • Helix shank. Clears timber debris as it drives and improves clamping between board and joist.
  • Exterior green organic finish. Corrosion rated 3 and tested to 1,000 hours in a salt spray cabinet.
  • TX20 drive. Positive grip with far less cam-out, and a TX20 25mm bit is included in the box.
  • 40 degree single deep thread, partially threaded. The unthreaded shank pulls the board hard against the joist.

Built for outdoor timber work where the fixing has to last. Common jobs include:

  • Softwood and hardwood decking boards onto joists

FAQs

Can I use these decking screws with an impact driver?

Yes. The head is strengthened to resist shearing when driven with an impact tool, and the hardened steel core handles the torque. Use the included TX20 25mm bit and let the twin-cut point do the work. Ease off the trigger as the head reaches the timber so it countersinks flush rather than sinking too deep.

Do I need to pre-drill before fitting?

For most softwood decking you do not. The C2 twin-cut point cuts its own path and cuts down on splitting, so you can drive straight in. Near board ends, close to a knot, or in dense hardwood, a small pilot hole is still worth it to keep the timber from splitting.

Are these screws suitable for hardwood decking as well as softwood?

They work in both. Softwood boards usually take the screw with no pilot hole. Dense hardwoods such as ipe or balau are tougher, so pre-drill and clear the recess first for a clean, flush finish. The hardened steel and twin-cut point give you the bite you need in harder timber.

Will the green finish fade or rust outside?

The exterior green organic coating is built for outdoor use. It carries a corrosion rating of 3 and passes 1,000 hours in a salt spray cabinet, so it holds up in normal UK garden conditions. The green tone also blends in well with treated softwood decking once the boards weather.

What size and drive are these screws?

This is the 4.5mm diameter C2 Deck-Fix in a TX20 drive, available in several lengths to suit board and joist thickness. Each pack includes a TX20 25mm bit so you can start straight away.

Do they meet a recognised standard?

Yes. The C2 Deck-Fix is manufactured to BS EN 14592:2008, the standard for dowel-type timber fasteners. That gives you a documented fixing for structural outdoor timber work.
