Description

The TIMCO C2 Flooring-Fix is a premium woodscrew tuned for man-made boards. It fixes chipboard and MDF flooring down to timber joists and grips well in the softer core of particleboard.

The twin-cut point starts fast and cuts cleanly, so boards are less likely to split near their edges. A steep countersunk head with self-countersinking ribs and finishing teeth pulls the screw flush, leaving a tidy surface ready for your floor covering.

FAQs

Do chipboard flooring screws need pilot holes?

For most chipboard and MDF flooring you can drive them straight in. The twin-cut point clears a path and lowers the splitting risk. Close to a board edge or in dense MDF, a small pilot hole gives extra insurance.

What screws should I use for chipboard flooring?

Use a screw made for man-made board, like the C2 Flooring-Fix. The coarse thread bites into the board core and the countersinking ribs sink the head flush, so nothing catches underfoot.

How are these different from normal wood screws?

Standard wood screws are tuned for natural timber. This one has a twin-cut point and finishing teeth suited to the crumbly core of chipboard and MDF, plus a Gleitmo coating that cuts insertion torque.

Do they countersink themselves?

Yes. The ribs under the head cut a recess as the screw seats, and the finishing teeth clean it up, so the head sits flush with the board without a separate countersink bit.

Can I screw into MDF without splitting it?

The twin-cut point helps a lot. Keep fixings back from the edge, drive straight, and for dense MDF a pilot hole around 70 percent of the screw diameter keeps splits at bay.

Are these screws suitable for outdoor use?

No. The ZYP gold finish is for interior work. For damp or exterior jobs, choose an exterior-rated or stainless fixing instead.
