Key Features & Benefits

  • C2 twin-cut technology. The twin-cut thread pattern gives rapid pick-up and helps reduce timber splitting as it goes in.
  • 40° dual-angle full thread. Maximises pull-out strength on every fixing, which counts wherever you need real holding force.
  • Double-countersunk head with ribs. The ribs beneath the head pull the screw down for a flush finish and help stop splitting and surface damage.
  • Deep Pozi (PZ2) recess. Resists cam-out so the bit stays put and you keep positive drive control.
  • Gleitmo polymer lubrication. Cuts insertion torque by up to 52% and boosts rust protection up to 20× longer than standard zinc plating.
  • Sharp point. Starts fast and needs less pilot prep in most timbers.
  • Genuinely multi-material. One screw handles hardwood, softwood, MDF, chipboard, plastic and thin sheet metal.
  • Manufactured to BS EN 14592:2008. A recognised standard for load-bearing timber fasteners.

Usage / Application

The C2 Strong-Fix is a true jack-of-all-trades fixing for the UK trade and the serious DIY user. Typical applications include:

  • General joinery, carpentry and second-fix work
  • Furniture assembly and cabinet making
  • Fixing hinges, brackets, plates and fittings where high load and holding power matter
  • Timber construction and framing
  • Securing MDF, chipboard and plywood panels
  • Light fixings into plastic and thin sheet metal

With a Corrosion Rating of 2, these screws suit indoor use and covered outdoor environments (occasionally damp, rural or sheltered locations). For fully exposed, coastal or persistently wet conditions, go for a higher corrosion-rated exterior or stainless screw.

FAQs

What are TIMCO C2 Strong-Fix screws used for?

They're multi-purpose woodscrews for joinery, carpentry, furniture and timber construction. The 40° dual-angle full thread gives high pull-out strength, so they're a solid pick for fixing hinges, brackets and other high-load fittings.

What materials can I fix into?

The C2 Strong-Fix works in hardwood, softwood, MDF, chipboard, plastic and thin sheet metal, so a single box covers most fixing jobs on site and in the workshop.

Do I need to drill a pilot hole?

The sharp point and twin-cut thread start quickly and the ribs under the head help reduce splitting, so you can often skip a pilot hole in general timber. In dense hardwoods, or close to an edge or end grain, drill a pilot hole to be safe.

Are these screws rust resistant?

Yes. The Zinc & Yellow (ZYP) finish works with a Gleitmo high-molecular polymer lubricant that lifts rust protection up to 20 times longer than standard zinc plating. Their Corrosion Rating of 2 suits indoor and covered outdoor use, though not fully exposed, wet or coastal spots.

Why do they drive so easily?

The polymer lubricant cuts insertion torque by up to 52%, and the deep PZ2 recess resists cam-out for positive drive control. That means faster driving, less bit slip and less strain on your driver.

Are the screws fully threaded?

Everything up to and including 75mm is fully threaded for maximum grip. Longer screws of 80mm and above have a 70mm thread length with a plain shank beneath the head.
