Caulk-Mate is the decorators' time-saver. It is an easy-to-apply, quick-drying interior acrylic caulk that smooths in 10 minutes and takes water-based paint in just one hour.

As a result, it speeds up every first-fix to paint turnaround. Use it on the small cracks and gaps that slow a job down.

Where to use Caulk-Mate

Caulk-Mate has good adhesion to most interior building materials. So it is ideal for repairing small internal cracks and joints with no movement. For example, it works well for:

  • Skirting boards and architraves
  • Stair risings and treads
  • Ceiling-to-wall and wall-to-wall hairline cracks
  • Light fittings and fitted furniture
  • Joints in plaster and wood

Usage / Application

First, check that the substrate is clean, dry and free from dust or oil. Then cut the nozzle at 45° to an opening slightly wider than the gap.

Apply with a standard sealant gun. After that, smooth the bead within 10 minutes using a wetted spatula or Sealant Applicator Tool. Do not tool once the skin has formed.

Also, avoid saturating the surface with water, because this delays the cure. Finally, clean tools with soapy water before the caulk sets.

Is Caulk-Mate suitable for bathrooms?

It can fill small cracks away from wet areas. However, it is not suitable for joints that stay submerged in water. Instead, use a silicone sealant like WP70 or WP100 around baths and showers.

Can I use it on uPVC?

No, Caulk-Mate is not suitable for uPVC. For uPVC, choose a neutral-cure silicone.

What happens if I try to paint it too soon?

The skin may lift or crack. So, wait until the skin has formed (usually around an hour) before applying water-based paint.

Can I use it outside?

No, Caulk-Mate is formulated for interior use only.
