Are these the same as the C2 premium screws?

No. These are the standard Classic Multi-Purpose woodscrew. The C2 twin-cut range is a separate premium screw with a different thread design. The Classic covers the everyday jobs at a keener price. If you want the faster-driving twin-cut, that's a different product.

Do I need to drill a pilot hole?

Usually not in softwood, thanks to the sharp 25 degree point. Near the end of a board, or when you're fixing into hardwood or dense material, a small pilot hole is worth the extra minute. It stops the timber splitting.

Can I use these outside?

They carry a corrosion rating of 2, so they suit internal work and sheltered or occasionally damp spots. For fully exposed outdoor work, decking or anything coastal, go for a stainless steel or externally rated screw.

What does the gold colour mean?

The gold shade is a Zinc & Yellow passivated finish, often shortened to ZYP. It's a plating that adds a bit of corrosion resistance on top of the carbon steel core.

Are they fully threaded?

Yes, up to 75mm long the thread runs the whole length. From 80mm and up the screw has a 70mm thread with a plain shank above it, which helps pull two pieces of timber tight together.

Which Pozi bit do I need?

A PZ2 Pozidriv bit. It's the most common size, so most drivers already have one. A fresh bit gives the best grip and cuts down on cam-out.
