What does S3 mean on a work boot?
The S3 rating means it is a 200 joule toecap, penetration resistant midsole, water resistant upper and a cleated energy absorbing sole, for wet and outdoor work; a heat resistant outsole tested to 300 degrees, for hot surfaces; a fuel and oil resistant outsole; a scuff cap over the toe for extra abrasion resistance.
Is this a steel or composite toecap?
Steel. The Eden Safety Boot uses a steel toecap and midsole for robust, proven protection.
What size should I order?
Portwest footwear runs in full EU sizes (38-48). If you are between sizes or wear thick socks, take the larger size.
Can these handle hot surfaces?
Yes. The HRO outsole is heat resistant to 300 degrees for short contact with hot floors and surfaces.
Are they waterproof?
The upper is water resistant to shed rain and site wet. For standing water all day, choose a waterproof (S7) or wellington style.
