Description

Gripbond Pro is Bond-It's advanced hybrid polymer sealant and adhesive. In short, it seals and bonds from the same cartridge, so one product does two jobs on a busy site.

It cures quickly and stays permanently flexible. Plus, it contains no isocyanates, solvents, silicone or phthalates, which makes it friendlier to both the applicator and the decorator who follows.

Where to use Gripbond Pro

As a sealant, Gripbond Pro is ideal for:

  • Filling and sealing connecting joints, cracks and holes indoors and out
  • All-weather exterior sealing where you need a paintable finish

As an adhesive, it tackles:

  • Metal-to-metal bonding, and it absorbs vibration
  • Concrete, mirrors (non-plastic-backed), gypsum board, polycarbonate, polystyrene and PVC
  • Ceramics, copper, lead, zinc, aluminium, stainless steel, wood and glass

Because it sticks to moist surfaces, it also accepts wet-on-wet application where conditions are less than ideal.

Usage / Application

First, make sure every surface is clean and free from grease, oil or dust. Then cut the cartridge threads carefully and screw on the nozzle.

For sealing, apply a continuous bead along the joint. After that, tool the bead with a Sealant Applicator Tool and a soapy-water solution.

For adhesive use, apply in beads or strips, then press the surfaces together and allow to cure. Finally, clean any uncured product with Bond-It White Spirit or Multi-Wipes. Cured adhesive needs mechanical removal.

FAQs

Can Gripbond Pro be used on mirrors?

Yes, on glass-backed mirrors. However, not on plastic-backed or safety-backed mirrors. Also, any mirror 6 mm or thicker, or any mirror over 1 m², needs mechanical fixings as well.

Is it suitable for expansion joints?

No, it is not for expansion joints or for joints continually immersed in water. For double-glazed unit bedding, specify LN7 silicone instead.

Will it stain natural stone?

It may stain marble and other porous stone surfaces. So, pre-seal the stone first if you need to apply Gripbond Pro on it.

Does it stick to LSE plastics like PE, PP or PTFE?

No, low-surface-energy plastics need a specialist adhesive.
