FAQs

What are masonry nails?

Hardened, zinc-plated steel nails made to be hammered straight into brick, block, mortar and lightweight concrete, so you can fix timber and fittings to a wall without drilling and plugging.

What are masonry nails used for?

Fixing battens, timber grounds, conduit and light frames to masonry quickly, where the strength of a plug and screw is more than the job needs.

How do you use masonry nails?

Start the nail square to the wall and drive it with firm, controlled blows. Wear eye protection, as hardened nails can shatter if struck at an angle. For hard, dense concrete, pre-drill or switch to a screw fixing.

Will masonry nails hold in concrete?

In soft and lightweight concrete, blockwork and mortar, yes. Dense structural concrete is too hard and can shatter the nail, so use a masonry screw or a plug and screw there.
