Description

Mega Stik is the fast way to fix plasterboard and insulation boards. It is a ready-to-use polyurethane foam adhesive in a 750 ml can, and it cures ready for plastering in just one hour.

One can fixes around five standard plasterboards. So, Mega Stik saves time, saves labour, and removes the heavy bags of adhesive from site.

What you can use Mega Stik for

Mega Stik was developed for the rapid installation of plasterboard, insulation boards, floorboards and roof decking. However, it also works as a backing-rod alternative around window and door frames.

Because it bonds to almost every common building substrate, it fixes boards to solid walls, metal studs, timber studs and battens with equal ease.

Usage / Application

First, protect surrounding surfaces with paper or plastic sheet. Then mist the substrate lightly with water, because the foam cures on moisture.

Next, shake the can for at least 30 seconds and screw on your foam gun. After that, apply beads to the back of the board. For insulation board, use three 25 mm beads. For plasterboard, space beads roughly 400 mm apart.

Press the board into place within 5 minutes, and hold for about a minute. Finally, you can plaster after just one hour. If you stop mid-job, clean the gun between cans with Gun Foam Cleaner. The can then stays usable for up to 4 weeks.

FAQs

Is Mega Stik a direct replacement for dot-and-dab?

Yes, for most internal plasterboard and insulation installs. In fact, one can covers around five boards and is ready to plaster in just an hour. By contrast, bag mix is heavier and slower.

Can I use Mega Stik overhead?

Yes, but use mechanical fixings as well until the adhesive reaches full cure.

What is the shelf life?

Around 12 months in the original can, stored between +5 °C and +25 °C. After you open a can with a gun fitted, clean the gun and screw in the proportioning screw. The can will stay usable for up to 4 weeks.

Do I need to prime the wall or board first?

No primer is needed. However, mist both surfaces lightly with water, because moisture drives the cure.
