First, make sure the joint faces are clean, dry and sound. Good adhesion depends on a clean substrate.

Next, cut the nozzle to suit the joint, load the cartridge into an applicator gun and apply a continuous bead.

Then tool the bead within a few minutes for a neat, weathertight finish. As an acetoxy silicone it gives off a vinegar smell while it cures.

Finally, keep joint movement within 20% of the joint width. For glazing that needs a neutral cure, see WP100; for high movement perimeter work choose a low modulus neutral silicone.

What does LMA mean?

Low Modulus Acetoxy. Low modulus means the cured silicone stays flexible to absorb joint movement; acetoxy is the cure chemistry, which gives off a mild vinegar smell while setting.

How much movement can it take?

It is designed for joints where movement does not exceed 20% of the joint width.

Is it suitable outside?

Yes, it is CE approved and classified F EXT-INT, so it is rated for both exterior and interior joints.

Should I use acetoxy or neutral cure?

Acetoxy silicones like Pro-Mate suit glass and glazed frames. For porous or sensitive substrates, or where you want lower odour, choose a neutral cure silicone such as WP100.

Buy a single cartridge for a small job, or the trade box of 25 for glazing and frame runs.
