Key Features & Benefits

  • Polymerically reinforced sealant and adhesive
  • Stops leaks in gutters, downpipes and roof laps
  • Cures to a flexible seal that moves with temperature
  • Bonds to metal, plastic, paint, stone, timber, brick, bitumen and asphalt
  • Seals and bonds in one – dual action
  • Colour: grey

Usage / Application

Clean and dry the joint, lap or crack as far as possible. Apply the sealant into and over the area and tool it to form a continuous, flexible, waterproof seal. It bonds to the surface and flexes with temperature movement rather than cracking.

Avoid applying into standing water or during heavy rain or hard frost, and protect a fresh repair from downpours until it has skinned. Curing time depends on temperature and humidity, so a mild, dry spell gives the fastest, strongest result.

FAQs

How do I seal a leaking gutter joint?

Clean and dry the joint as far as possible, then apply the sealant into and over the joint or crack and tool it to form a continuous flexible seal. It bonds to the gutter and forms a waterproof, flexible barrier that flexes with temperature movement rather than cracking.

Will it stick to plastic (uPVC) gutters?

Yes. The sealant adheres to construction-grade plastics as well as metal, painted surfaces, stone, timber, brick, bitumen and asphalt – so it works on modern uPVC guttering and older metal systems, and where the two meet.

Can I apply it in cold or damp conditions?

It is designed for real-world roof and gutter repairs, so it tolerates less-than-perfect conditions better than a standard silicone. Get the surface as clean and dry as you can for the best bond; avoid applying into standing water or during heavy rain or hard frost.

Does the seal stay flexible?

Yes. It cures to a flexible seal, which is important on gutters and roofs that expand and contract with temperature. A rigid filler would crack at the next cold snap; this stays flexible so the repair keeps working through the seasons.

Can I use it on a roof, not just gutters?

Yes. As well as gutters and downpipes it is used for general roofing repairs and roof drainage systems – sealing laps, joints and cracks. It is a multi-purpose lap-jointing sealant and adhesive for the whole roofline.

What colour is it?

The sealant is grey, which blends well with most guttering, lead, zinc and roofing materials. For visible areas, tool the bead neatly so the repair is discreet as well as watertight.

Is it an adhesive as well as a sealant?

Yes – it is a polymerically reinforced sealant and adhesive, so as well as sealing leaks it can bond and hold roofing and gutter components. That dual action makes it useful for re-fixing loose laps or trims while sealing them at the same time.

How long before it is rain-resistant?

Allow the surface to skin and begin to cure before exposing it to heavy rain, and protect a fresh repair from downpours where you can. Curing time depends on temperature and humidity, so a mild, dry spell gives the fastest, strongest result.
