First, remove any old sealant and mould fully, then make sure the surface is clean, dry and grease free. Trapped mould under new sealant grows back.

Next, cut the nozzle to the joint width and gun a smooth, continuous bead around the sanitary ware or into the corner.

Then tool the bead within a few minutes for a clean, hygienic line. Our De-Bond remover helps strip old silicone first.

Finally, keep the joint dry while it cures. S3 is fungal resistant; for the longest anti-mould guarantee in heavy wet areas, step up to Xtreme (guaranteed mould-free up to 10 years).

What is a sanitary silicone?

A silicone formulated for wet, hygienic areas, with a fungicide to resist mould and staining on tiles, ceramics and sanitary ware. S3 is a low-maintenance sanitary grade for bathrooms and kitchens.

How is S3 different from Xtreme?

Both are anti-mould sanitary silicones. S3 is fungal resistant for everyday bathroom and kitchen sealing; Xtreme carries a longer guarantee (mould-free up to 10 years) for heavy wet areas. Choose Xtreme for the worst condensation and shower trays.

Why does black mould keep returning on my old sealant?

Usually because mould was sealed in underneath, or a non-sanitary sealant was used. Strip the old bead fully (our De-Bond helps), dry the joint, then reseal with S3 or Xtreme.

Which colour for a bathroom?

White and clear are the most common; ivory suits cream or stone-coloured suites and worktops.

What surfaces does it stick to?
