Timco SKU: 00061CWZB Barcode:
Description
These are the traditional twin-thread woodscrews the trade has trusted for years, bought the sensible way in a bulk TIMbag. If you're getting through fixings by the handful all day, a big trade bag keeps the job moving and works out kinder on the wallet than small boxes. TIMCO make them from carbon steel with a bright zinc plated finish, so they've got that clean silver look and a bit of interior corrosion protection built in.
The twin-thread pattern and single lead point bite fast into softwood. Less driver slip, quicker starts, and good pull-out once they're home. The double countersunk Pozi PZ2 head sits flush and cuts down on cam-out. Grab a bag, keep it on the van, and stop running out mid-job.

Key Features & Benefits
Usage / Application
These screws are built for softwood. Reach for them on general carpentry and joinery, stud walls, timber framing, skirting and architrave, fixing battens, and plenty of everyday second-fix work. The BZP finish means they're a job for indoor use. For anything exposed to weather or damp, pick a screw with a higher corrosion rating instead.

FAQs
What's the difference between twin thread and single thread screws?
A twin-thread screw has two threads running down it instead of one. That lets it drive in faster with fewer turns and grip better in soft timber. Single-thread screws turn slower and suit some harder or specialist jobs. For general softwood carpentry, the twin thread is the quicker, easier option.
What does BZP mean?
BZP stands for bright zinc plated. It's a thin zinc coating over the carbon steel that gives the screw a clean silver finish and a bit of protection against rust. It's rated for interior use (Corrosion Rating 1). Keep BZP screws indoors and use a tougher finish outside.
Why buy screws in a bulk TIMbag?
The TIMbag is TIMCO's trade bulk bag. You get a large count in one pack, so there's less faffing with little boxes and a lower cost per screw. If you're fixing all day or kitting out a site, a bulk bag keeps you stocked and cuts the trips to the merchant.
Do I need to pilot drill first?
The sharp 25 degree point and twin thread start well in softwood, so on most jobs you can drive straight in. Near board ends, in dense timber, or where you want a really neat finish, a quick pilot hole helps stop splitting.
What size Pozi bit do these take?
They use a Pozi PZ2 recess, so a PZ2 driver bit is what you want. Make sure it's a proper Pozi bit, not Phillips, to keep a solid grip and avoid cam-out.
Are these suitable for outdoor use?
No. The bright zinc plating is Corrosion Rating 1, which is for interior work. For decking, fencing or anything exposed to the weather, go for an exterior-grade screw with a higher corrosion rating.
